This script is a companion script to Positive Time Out, a non-punitive way to teach your students to learn from their mistakes, and encourages children to reflect upon and fix their actions. However, if Positive Time Out is not “working” where a student cannot regain their control or continues to make the same mistakes, a Buddy Teacher removes the student from the classroom to cool down and regain their control so teaching and learning are not interrupted. Buddy Teacher needs to be modeled and taught to your students. Use this modeling script as a companion to Positive Time Out and start off your year right with classroom management that works.
