Description

Need a fun way to get your students to follow the routines and expectations in your classroom? This version of Beat The Teacher will definitely help with that. Here’s how it works: The teacher names the expectation that the class will work toward. If they do it, the class gets the point. If they don’t the teacher gets the point. For example, the teacher says, “the expectation is that you line up safely, quickly, and quietly. If you do you get the point. If you don’t I get the point.” Practice the routines as many times as needed until your students master them.

Includes:

•One Beat The Teacher score sheet (Add your bee Bitmoji or another picture of yourself. The text is editable just in case you want to come up with another name for the teacher or class hive. Print and laminate. Use a dry-erase marker to keep score. You can use tally marks.

•One class hive- keep score of class points on the hive. Ex. You can give your students 5 points every time they “beat the teacher.” Set class rewards for different increments, 25 points the class earns extra recess. 50 points the class earns pajama day, 100 points the class earns a movie & popcorn, etc. Choose rewards that are age/grade appropriate for the students you teach. The class could vote on rewards too.

•One Editable Routines & Expectations Choice Board- This board has example routines and expectations in 4 categories: Morning Routine, Listening & Participation, Transitions, & Dismissal. You can make changes based on the age/grade you teach or work on specific routines and expectations throughout the year. You can add categories (columns and rows) or delete some. Tailor it to fit the needs of your classroom routines, expectations & students. You can enlarge this page to make it poster size or leave it as is. You can laminate it and circle or highlight which expectations your class has mastered or which ones your students need to work on further.

Have fun with it! Enjoy from my classroom to yours!
